Design and Matlab Analysis
We made a rough sketch our our truss design and decided on a Pratt truss type with 8 cross beams, and decided to spread the load across all 8 beams. We conducted a method of joints analysis in Matlab and performance index analysis that laid out the optimized angle of the diagonal beams, cost, weight, and the load it could withstand.
SolidWorks and FEA

Made a SolidWorks model of our truss bridge and conducted FE analysis that allowed us to see where bending and strain was occurring. We proved that we could hold over 175[lbf].
